There are many wonderful web sites dedicated the comic genius of Laurel and Hardy. This page is not intended to duplicate or replace those sites. Our goal is simply to get the word out about our tent and our meetings. Please use our "Links" to find some of our favorite Laurel and Hardy web sites!!

The Babes in Toyland tent of the Sons of the Desert, Oasis 127, was "foundered" in April 1991: "Tall Oaks From Little Acorns Grow." We meet on the third Saturday of every other month from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as follows: January, March, May, July, September and November. At the present time we meet at the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Classroom 102 where we have use of a video projection system. If there is a change of location, members will be notified.
Dues are $20.00 per household per calendar year and payable in January. Checks should be made out to Grand Sheik Gary Meiseles and will be collected at the January meeting. You can contact me by using the "email" button to the left.
Newsletter: Currently, a tent newsletter does not exist. However, each household
MUST subscribe to the Intra-Tent Journal, the international, quarterly, newsletter from the "home" office. Subscription cost is $20.00 per year for four issues No true "Son" should be without!
Meeting Costs: Each member is asked to bring a snack and/or drink for everyone to share. Paper products (cups, plates, napkins) and ice will be provided by the Grand Sheik.
Meetings: As stated above, we meet on the third Saturday of every other month from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as follows: January, March, May, July, September and November. That means we will be meeting on January 26, 2008 (SPECIAL DATE), March 15, 2008, May 17, 2008, July 19, 2008, September 20, 2008 and November 15, 2008. The meetings consist of some food, some talk, a lot of film and a lot of laughs!
Dress Code: Yes, even this august group has a dress code. All members are required to be dressed! Although NOT required, members are ENCOURAGED to wear appropriate headgear such as a fez, derby, pith helmet, or any other such item that the boys wore in a film. We won't throw you out if you don't.
